Venmo User Agreements

Restrictions may be placed on your account to protect Venmo and Venmo users if we see any activity or limited activity that we believe is unusual or suspicious. Restrictions also help us collect the information necessary to maintain your Venmo account. The grey area in which Venmo is complying with its user agreement comes at a time when the company is changing dramatically. In September, the company announced that retailers such as Williams-Sonoma would accept Venmo as payment for purchases. In June, the company announced beta testing of a debit card. This User Agreement will enter into force on November 11, 2020. As security for the performance of your obligations under this User Agreement, you grant us a pledge and interest in guarantee for funds in your Venmo account and any other money in our possession. This User Agreement and each of its parts attest to a transaction covering intergovernmental commerce, and the United States Arbitration Act applies in all cases and governs the interpretation and application of arbitration rules and arbitration proceedings. There are only two exceptions to this arbitration agreement. First, if we fundamentally believe that you have violated or otherwise threatened our intellectual property rights, we may seek from any competent court for requests for omission or other appropriate remedies. . . .
